Ingredients:

  • 4 medium potatoes (about 800g)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (about 100g)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (about 50g)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (about 25g)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 egg
  • Oil for frying

  • Mixing bowl
  • Frying pan
  • Slotted spoon
  • Paper towels

Instructions:

  • Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender, about 20 minutes. Drain and let cool.
  • Peel the potatoes and mash them in a large bowl.
  • Add the shredded cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to the mashed potatoes. Mix well.
  • Form the mixture into small balls, about the size of a golf ball.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the egg. Dip each potato ball into the egg, then roll in breadcrumbs to coat.
  • Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Fry the potato balls in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  • Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot.
